Hi! I'm Jennifer, your research e-assistant, and I'm here to help.

You may be wondering why the SMA Archive website is still not fully functional. In order to fully test and optimise the enhanced infrastructure, prior to general release, it was decided that access to the searchable database should be suspended totally from 7 April as ongoing full scale testing, involving the simulation of high demand, would not be possible without unacceptable disruption to visitors trying to use the service. Normal services will be resumed as soon as possible and we appreciate your continuing patience.
The part of the collection currently on loan to Walter Sculley can be viewed here.
The full SMA Archive is available for public consultation at Virginia Drive. Some local libraries and record offices also have microform copies. Cells can be ordered using our online form.
We have recently received a number of queries from users who started using a Cell Voucher and subsequently have been unable to use them, whilst the service has been unavailable. We have taken steps to ensure that users will be able to fully use any remaining credit when the service resumes. The following clarifies the situation. - Cell Vouchers that have been purchased have an indefinite life until such time as they become active by entering their individual details (i.e. the voucher number and password beneath the scratch panel) into the SMA Website.
- The life of these active Cell Vouchers has been increased from six (6) months to nine (9) months. This means that Cell Voucher already activated will expire when the value of the Cell Voucher is used up or when nine months has elapsed, whichever is earlier, and this will ensure that all users will get full use of their Cell Vouchers.
- Cell Vouchers that have not been entered into the SMA Website and remain intact (i.e. inside the sealed cellophane pack and with the scratch panel untouched) which are no longer required by the purchaser may be returned to the point of sale for a refund. Please contact your point of purchase to check on their arrangements for refunds. Alternatively, if this is inconvenient, individuals may send intact Cell Vouchers, with their name and address, to:
SMA Archive Virginia Drive Baltimore and the purchase price and postage will be refunded.
